Safety and Security Are Lion Group’s Top Priorities for Passengers, Flight Crews, and All Relevant Parties Lion Group Flights Gradually Resume at Soekarno-Hatta and Halim Perdanakusuma Airports

Sep 8, 2026, 09:15 AM by Lion Air Public Relations

J A K A R T A, 8 September 2026 — Lion Group announces that, starting Tuesday, 8 September 2026, a number of flights to and from Jakarta are gradually resuming at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport (HLP). The resumption follows official notifications from aviation authorities and the latest developments concerning airspace conditions around Jakarta.

Flights are being resumed gradually because each flight must be assessed based on the latest volcanic ash conditions and operational readiness. The assessment covers airspace conditions, the readiness of airports and supporting facilities, aircraft condition, and flight crew preparedness.

Volcanic ash is a condition that requires careful attention in aviation, as it may affect aircraft operations when present along flight paths. Therefore, flights will resume only after the conditions and all supporting aspects have been assessed as suitable. This approach is part of Lion Group’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of passengers, flight crews, and all parties involved in flight operations.

As flight conditions in Jakarta continue to recover, Lion Group’s flight services are gradually becoming available again. Passengers planning to travel are advised to check their flight status before proceeding to the airport and to follow the latest updates.

Passengers can use the BookCabin application to prepare for their journey, from booking tickets and completing online check-in to accessing various other travel features.

Lion Group advises passengers to remain cautious of individuals or parties claiming to represent Lion Group. The only official Lion Group Contact Center is available via WhatsApp Chat at +62 811-1938-0888. Passengers should not disclose personal information, booking codes, or OTP codes, or make payments to unauthorized parties. Please ensure that all flight-related information is obtained through Lion Group’s official channels.

Lion Group will continue to provide updates should there be any changes in conditions affecting flight operations. Every flight-related decision is made based on current conditions and available official information, with safety and security as the primary considerations.
