Lion Air Launches 1447H Umrah Flights from Banda Aceh to JeddahA More Convenient and Comfortable Journey to the Holy Land for Pilgrims from Aceh and Surrounding Areas
BANDA ACEH, July 17, 2025 — Lion Air has officially announced the launch of its 1447 Hijri Umrah flight services from Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, Aceh Besar (BTJ), to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah (JED). The inaugural flight is scheduled for July 31, 2025, offering a 13-day Umrah travel program. Flight JT-054 is set to depart at 12:45 PM local time (WIB) and arrive in Jeddah at 6:50 PM local time. The return flight, JT-055, will depart Jeddah at 7:50 PM and is scheduled to arrive in Banda Aceh the following day at 9:55 AM WIB. Initially, this service will operate once a week, as part of Lion Air’s commitment to bringing Umrah services closer to the people of Aceh and nearby regions. With this direct route, pilgrims from Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar, and other areas in northern Sumatra now have a faster, more practical, and more comfortable alternative for their Umrah journey.
The flight will be operated using a Boeing 737-9 aircraft with a capacity of 215 passengers, offering a safe, comfortable cabin atmosphere suitable for long-haul travel.
The route will pass over South Asia with a refueling stop in Trivandrum, India, specifically at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (TRV). During the refueling process, pilgrims will remain on board, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey.
Pilgrims will receive a range of amenities to support a smooth and fulfilling pilgrimage experience, including:
- 25 kg checked baggage allowance
- 7 kg cabin baggage allowance
- 5 liters of Zamzam water
- Full meals and snacks during the flight
- Blanket for added comfort onboard
Lion Air reminds all pilgrims to ensure their safety and comfort by observing the following:
- Keep important items (passport, documents, money) in cabin luggage
- Power banks up to 32,000 mAh are only allowed in carry-on and may not be used during the flight
- Do not carry liquids over 100 ml, sharp objects, or hazardous materials in the cabin
- All luggage must be labeled with name and contact number
