Umrah Made Easier! Lion Air Launches Non-Stop Palembang – Jeddah Flights Starting July 10, 2025

Jul 7, 2025, 11:13 AM by Lion Air Public Relations

P A L E M B A N G, July 5, 2025 — Lion Air has announced the launch of a non-stop Umrah flight service from Palembang to Jeddah starting July 10, 2025. The flight will operate every Thursday with a 9-day Umrah program, providing a practical solution for residents of South Sumatra and surrounding areas to perform the pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

This flight will be operated using modern-generation wide-body aircraft, namely the Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A330-900NEO, with a capacity of up to 433 economy class seats. These aircraft are equipped with spacious cabins, ergonomic seating, and comprehensive comfort systems specially designed for long-haul travel. Lion Air offers 30 kg of free checked baggage, 7 kg of cabin baggage, and 5 liters of zamzam water.

✈️ Departure: Flight number JT-076 is scheduled to depart from Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport, Palembang at 1:40 PM (WIB), and is expected to arrive in Jeddah at 7:30 PM local time at King Abdulaziz International Airport.

✈️ Return: Return flight JT-077 is scheduled to depart from Jeddah at 9:10 PM (Saudi time), and is expected to land in Palembang at 10:50 AM (WIB) the following day.

The availability of this direct Palembang–Jeddah route brings significant benefits, allowing pilgrims to avoid long overland trips to other cities for transit. It also improves access from areas such as OKI, Banyuasin, Prabumulih, Lubuklinggau, and neighboring provinces like Jambi and Bengkulu. In addition, this route supports the development of religious tourism and contributes to the growth of local economies centered on spiritual journeys.

To ensure smooth and compliant travel, Lion Air reminds all pilgrims to follow baggage regulations. Valuables such as passports, money, and important documents should be carried in cabin baggage and not placed in checked baggage. Power banks are only permitted in the cabin, with a maximum capacity of 20,000–32,000 mAh, and must not be used during the flight. Passengers are prohibited from carrying sharp objects, liquids over 100 ml in the cabin, or other hazardous materials. For easier identification, it is recommended that all bags and suitcases be labeled with the owner's name and contact number.

Lion Air urges prospective pilgrims to book and consult only with officially partnered Umrah travel agencies. This is important to prevent fraud and ensure a smooth, safe, and comfortable journey from departure to return.
