From Batam Island to the Holy Land, Lion Air Now Flies Non-Stop Without Transit!
B A T A M, July 12, 2025 — Lion Air has officially launched direct (non-stop) Umrah flights from Hang Nadim International Airport, Batam to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Initially operating once a week, this marks a new opportunity for residents of the Riau Islands and surrounding areas to perform Umrah without needing to fly through other cities first.
This direct service from Batam to Jeddah offers a timely, comfortable, and practical travel option. Lion Air operates this route using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, designed specifically for long-haul flights with spacious cabins and ergonomic seating. Pilgrims will enjoy a pleasant flight experience and the warm, friendly service Lion Air is known for.
Each pilgrim is entitled to 30 kg of free checked baggage, 7 kg of cabin baggage, 5 liters of Zamzam water upon return from Saudi Arabia
There’s no need to worry about luggage—everything is arranged to support a smooth and focused pilgrimage.
This new flight is great news for pilgrims from Batam, Tanjungpinang, Bintan, Karimun, Singkep, and other nearby regions who previously had to access Umrah flights through major cities in Indonesia. Hang Nadim Airport now serves as a starting point for their spiritual journey to the Holy Land.
Lion Air expresses its deepest gratitude to all parties who made this flight possible: the Batam International Airport (BIB) operator, AirNav Indonesia, Immigration, Customs, Port Health Authority, Pertamina, and of course, the official Umrah travel agency partners who have supported this program.
