S U R A B A Y A, July 12, 2025 — Lion Air has expanded its religious travel network by launching direct Umrah services from Surabaya to Jeddah, reaffirming its commitment to making spiritual journeys to the Holy Land more accessible. The route officially opens with a frequency of 10 one-way flights per week, or 20 round-trip flights weekly, from Juanda International Airport (SUB) to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah (JED).

Initial departure options include:

• July 12 and 13, 2025 – for the 12-day program
• July 15, 2025 – for the 13-day program
• July 16 and 17, 2025 – two departures each day for the 16-day program
• July 19, 20, and 21, 2025 – for the 16-day program

Thanks to the high weekly flight frequency, prospective pilgrims from Surabaya, Malang, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, Gresik, and nearby cities now have the flexibility to choose their ideal departure time without the need to transit through other major cities. This highlights Lion Air’s role in bringing Umrah access closer and more convenient for communities across East Java and beyond.

All Umrah services are operated using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, configured with 433 economy-class seats that offer ample space and comfort. The aircraft cabins are specially designed for long-haul journeys like Umrah, making the pilgrimage smoother and more enjoyable.

Lion Air provides the following travel amenities:

• 30 kg of free checked baggage
• 7 kg of cabin baggage
• 5 liters of Zamzam water upon return

To ensure a safe and smooth experience, Lion Air reminds all pilgrims to:

• Keep important documents (passport, ticket, money) in cabin bags
• Bring power banks only in carry-on (maximum 100–160 Wh) and do not use them during the flight
• Avoid carrying liquids over 100 ml and any dangerous items in cabin bags
• Clearly label all bags and suitcases for easier baggage handling

Lion Air strongly encourages pilgrims to book Umrah packages through officially partnered travel agencies, ensuring security, convenience, and protection against potential fraud.
