P A L U, 16 October 2026. Wings Air and Batik Air are adjusting flights to and from Mutiara SIS Al-Jufri Airport, Palu, Central Sulawesi, due to haze that has reduced visibility around the airport. These conditions can make it difficult for pilots to clearly see the runway and its surroundings. Flights cannot operate when visibility falls below the minimum required for flight safety.

The haze, which is beyond the airlines’ control, has affected flight operations. Prioritizing safety, Wings Air and Batik Air have decided to cancel the following flights:

Wings Air

• IW1154, Palu (PLW)–Tolitoli (TLI), scheduled departure at 11:00 local time.
• IW1155, Tolitoli (TLI)–Palu (PLW), scheduled departure at 12:25 local time.

Batik Air

• ID6554, Makassar (UPG)–Palu (PLW), scheduled departure at 13:15 local time.
• ID6555, Palu (PLW)–Makassar (UPG), scheduled departure at 15:10 local time.

The cancellations were made because visibility did not meet flight safety requirements. This decision is a necessary measure to ensure that flight operations continue to prioritize the safety of passengers and crew.

Affected passengers may choose a refund or reschedule their flights in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions. Passengers may contact airport service staff for information and assistance with their chosen option.

Wings Air and Batik Air understand that these cancellations may affect passengers’ travel plans. Both airlines continue to monitor conditions at the airport and coordinate with the relevant parties.
