L U W U K, 15 October 2026. Batik Air announces the cancellation of several flights to and from Syukuran Aminuddin Amir Airport, Luwuk, Central Sulawesi, on Thursday, 15 October 2026, due to adverse weather conditions involving haze that has reduced visibility around the airport.

Haze can reduce visibility, making it more difficult for pilots to see the runway and its surroundings, particularly during landing and takeoff. This is an important consideration for flight safety, as every aircraft must meet the applicable visibility and operational requirements before a flight can proceed.

Considering these conditions, cancelling flights is an appropriate measure to prioritize the safety of passengers and crew. Flights cannot proceed when visibility does not meet safety requirements. This decision is a precautionary measure to prevent flights from operating under unsuitable conditions.

The Batik Air flights cancelled on 15 October 2026 are as follows:

  • Batik Air ID 6294, Makassar–Luwuk, scheduled to depart from Makassar at 10:15 local time.
  • Batik Air ID 6292, Makassar–Luwuk, scheduled to depart from Makassar at 13:05 local time.
  • Batik Air ID 6295, Luwuk–Makassar, scheduled to depart from Luwuk at 12:10 local time.
  • Batik Air ID 6293, Luwuk–Makassar, scheduled to depart from Luwuk at 15:05 local time.

Batik Air is informing affected passengers of the flight cancellations and the available travel options, namely:

  • Refund: reimbursement of the ticket cost in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions.
  • Rescheduling: changing the flight booking to another available schedule in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions.

These options allow passengers to adjust their travel plans according to their individual needs.

Batik Air understands that changes to travel plans may affect passengers’ activities and schedules. Batik Air continues to monitor weather conditions and coordinate with the relevant parties to obtain the latest information and support assistance for affected passengers.

The safety of passengers and crew remains the highest priority in every flight-related decision. Flights will operate when weather conditions and visibility meet the applicable safety requirements.
