Oct 15, 2026, 18:54 PM by Lion Air Public Relations

P A L U, 15 October 2026. Wings Air and Super Air Jet have cancelled flights from Mutiara SIS Al-Jufri Airport, Palu, Central Sulawesi, due to haze that has reduced visibility below the minimum required for flight safety (visibility below minima). These conditions limit pilots’ ability to adequately see the runway and the surrounding airport environment, preventing flights from operating safely.

The haze constitutes circumstances beyond the airlines’ control (force majeure) that have affected flight operations. Based on actual conditions and safety requirements, the following flights have been cancelled:

  • Super Air Jet IU-255, Palu (PLW)–Jakarta (CGK).
  • Wings Air IW-1337, Palu (PLW)–Morowali (MOH).

Wings Air and Super Air Jet prioritize flight safety in every operational decision. Flights must therefore operate under weather and visibility conditions that meet safety requirements.

Affected passengers may choose a refund or reschedule their flights in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions. Passengers may contact airport service staff for information and assistance regarding these options.

Wings Air and Super Air Jet understand that these cancellations may affect passengers’ travel plans. Both airlines continue to monitor conditions at the airport and coordinate with the relevant parties while ensuring that every flight meets safety requirements.
