Lion Group Supports Post-Earthquake Recovery in East Nusa Tenggara
Mobilizing Aid through Its Aviation Network to Support Local Communities and the Regional Economy
JAKARTA, 17 August 2026 — Lion Group is assisting communities affected by the earthquake in Flores and surrounding areas of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This support forms part of the company’s social responsibility efforts to address community needs and help restore social and economic activities.
As an airline group serving destinations across East Nusa Tenggara, Lion Group is utilizing its aviation network to help deliver aid to areas in need.
The network covers several airports in Flores and surrounding areas, including Labuan Bajo, Ruteng, Bajawa, Ende, Maumere, Larantuka, Lewoleba, Alor, and Kupang. Lion Group flights have long supported the mobility of local communities, business travelers, and tourists throughout these regions.
In the aftermath of the disaster, this aviation network is being utilized to transport humanitarian aid and essential supplies from various regions. Deliveries are being carried out in stages, taking into account the intended destinations, available flight capacity, and operational conditions.
The support includes the delivery of 1,000 blankets, 1,000 sleeping mats, and 600 packages of instant food for communities in need. The aid was transported aboard Lion Air flight JT-694 from Surabaya to Kupang as part of the efforts to help meet the needs of communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara.
The assistance is being delivered in stages through Lion Group’s aviation network, according to the needs and operational conditions in each affected area.
Lion Group hopes this assistance will help ease the burden on earthquake-affected communities in East Nusa Tenggara, support the resumption of daily activities, and contribute to the recovery of the regional economy.
