P A L E M B A N G, 5 August 2026 – Wings Air continues to expand its flight network from Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung (BDO). This initiative further strengthens Wings Air’s role in restoring connectivity between Bandung and various regions across Indonesia. The Bandung–Palembang–Bandung route provides travellers with a faster and more convenient option without having to transit through a hub airport. For greater convenience, customers can book tickets, check in online and manage their travel needs through the BookCabin application.

Bandung and Palembang have long maintained close ties across a wide range of activities. Business, trade, education, healthcare, government affairs, sporting events and tourism contribute to the high level of mobility between the two cities.

For business travellers, direct flights facilitate faster meetings, create broader investment opportunities and support more efficient logistics distribution. Tourists gain easier access to leading destinations in South Sumatra and West Java. Meanwhile, the public can undertake official trips and travel for education, healthcare and family visits in less time.

The route will be developed in phases. During the initial phase, Wings Air will operate ATR 72 aircraft in line with market demand. As demand grows, the service will be expanded using jet aircraft, increasing passenger capacity and providing a wider selection of flight schedules.

PALEMBANG–PANGKALPINANG–BELITUNG ROUTE STRENGTHENS REGIONAL CONNECTIVITY

In addition to opening direct access from Bandung, Wings Air is strengthening its network from Palembang through the Palembang–Pangkalpinang–Tanjung Pandan (Belitung) route.

The route facilitates travel between South Sumatra and the Bangka Belitung Islands for various purposes, including business, government affairs, education, healthcare, tourism and family visits. Improved connectivity is also expected to support the growth of trade, tourism, micro, small and medium enterprises, and investment in both provinces.
