M O R O T A I, 16 July 2026 – Wings Air, in collaboration with the Government of Morotai Island Regency, is enhancing air transportation access through the operation of the Pitu Airport, Morotai (OTI) – Sultan Babullah Airport, Ternate (TTE) route. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving community mobility, strengthening regional connectivity, and supporting economic growth and tourism development on Morotai Island.

This collaboration underscores the importance of synergy between local governments and airlines in providing air transportation services that meet the needs of the community. With improved air access, Morotai has greater opportunities to develop as a center for economic activity, trade, investment, and tourism in Eastern Indonesia.

The launch of the Morotai–Ternate route provides a wide range of benefits, including:

The Morotai–Ternate route is operated using the ATR 72, a modern turboprop aircraft configured with 72 comfortable all-economy seats. Designed for short- and medium-haul regional operations, the ATR 72 is ideally suited for archipelagic regions such as North Maluku, providing a comfortable travel experience while supporting efficient operations at airports serving inter-island flights.
