Solo: A Strategic Gateway for Umrah — Lion Air Officially Launches Non-Stop Flights to Jeddah
S O L O, July 12, 2025 — Lion Air has officially commenced its direct (non-stop) Umrah flight service from Adi Soemarmo International Airport, Solo (SOC) to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah (JED), Saudi Arabia on July 12, 2025. This service is designed to offer convenience, comfort, and efficiency for pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land from Solo and surrounding areas.
Solo has now become a strategic city within Lion Air's Umrah flight network, serving pilgrims from Solo, Boyolali, Klaten, Karanganyar, Sukoharjo, Yogyakarta, and other areas across Central Java. The availability of this direct service eliminates the need for transit stops and shortens travel time to Saudi Arabia.
The flights are operated using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft with a seating capacity of up to 436 economy class passengers. With its spacious cabin and long-haul travel support systems, Umrah pilgrims can enjoy a more peaceful and comfortable journey.
Lion Air offers:
- 30 kg of free checked baggage
- 7 kg of cabin baggage
- 5 liters of Zamzam water, distributed upon return from Saudi Arabia
These benefits allow pilgrims to bring religious supplies, clothing, and meaningful souvenirs from the Holy Land with ease.

Special thanks go to Angkasa Pura I – Adi Soemarmo Airport branch as the airport operator, AirNav Indonesia for air traffic control, as well as Immigration, Customs, Port Health Authority (KKP),and Pertamina DPPU for their active role in supporting Umrah flight operations.
A special acknowledgment is also extended to Umrah travel partners such as NQH Wisata, Arminareka Perdana, Hajar Aswad, Zamzam, Dewangga Umroh, PBMT Travel, Amera Hati, and others who are an essential part of Lion Air’s Umrah service ecosystem.
A ceremonial send-off for pilgrims was held at the international gate of Adi Soemarmo Airport, which included a welcome session, the presentation of commemorative scarves to pilgrim representatives, joint prayer, the handing over of aircraft miniatures to strategic partners, and a group photo with all invited guests.
Lion Air also reminds all pilgrims to follow international travel regulations, including:
- Keep valuables such as passports and important documents in your cabin bag
- Power banks are only allowed in the cabin, with a maximum capacity of 160 Wh, and must not be used during the flight
- Do not carry sharp objects, liquids over 100 ml, or hazardous materials in cabin bags
- Clearly label all luggage and bags with your name and contact information
