Lion Air Supports Smooth Umrah Departures from Eastern Indonesia with Makassar–Jeddah Route

M A K A S S A R, July 12, 2025 — Lion Air continues to strengthen its role as a bridge for Umrah pilgrimage by launching flights from Makassar to Jeddah for the 1447H Umrah season. The service officially begins on July 17, 2025, operating up to six times per week, making Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport a key departure hub for travel to Saudi Arabia.

Pilgrims will fly on next-generation wide-body aircraft, the Airbus A330-300CEO and A330-900NEO, with seating capacity of up to 433 economy-class seats. These aircraft are specially designed for long-haul travel, offering spacious cabins, ergonomic seating, and professional, friendly service from the cabin crew. Each passenger will receive full in-flight service, including meals (main and light), a blanket, and:

✔️ 30 kg checked baggage ✔️ 7 kg cabin baggage ✔️ 5 liters of Zamzam water (provided upon return)

Initial Umrah Flight Schedule Makassar–Jeddah:

  • July 17, 2025 | JT-092 | 13-day program | Departs 09:40 WITA – Arrives 16:30 local time
  • July 19, 2025 | JT-094 | 12-day program | Departs 14:55 WITA – Arrives 21:45 local time
  • July 20, 2025 | JT-092 | 12-day program | Departs 09:40 WITA – Arrives 16:30 local time
  • July 21, 2025 | JT-092 | 12-day program | Departs 09:40 WITA – Arrives 16:30 local time
  • July 22, 2025 | JT-095 | 13-day program | Departs 15:15 WITA – Arrives 22:05 local time
  • July 23, 2025 | JT-092 | 13-day program | Departs 09:40 WITA – Arrives 16:30 local time

This service is part of Lion Air’s commitment to simplify Umrah access for people in South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, and even eastern regions of Indonesia, such as Maluku and Papua. With this route, pilgrims no longer need to transit through other cities to reach Jeddah—everything starts conveniently from Makassar, making the journey faster, more efficient, and direct.
