S U R A B A Y A, July 7, 2025 — Lion Air is strengthening its commitment to providing easy, fast, and comfortable access to Umrah by launching direct flights from Juanda International Airport, Surabaya (SUB) to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah (JED) with 10 one-way flights per week, or 20 round-trip flights weekly.

The Umrah flights from Surabaya are available weekly, with the initial schedule as follows:

• July 12 and 13, 2025 for the 12-day program,
• July 15, 2025 for the 13-day program,
• July 16 and 17, 2025 with two different departures each day for the 16-day program,
• July 19, 20, and 21, 2025 for the 16-day program.

All flights are operated using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, with a capacity of up to 433 economy class seats, designed to enhance comfort during long-haul journeys. The spacious cabin and modern entertainment system allow pilgrims to travel to the Holy Land with greater peace and enjoyment.

Lion Air provides a free baggage allowance of 30 kg, 7 kg for carry-on baggage, and an additional 5 liters of Zamzam water distributed upon return from Saudi Arabia. These benefits offer an ideal solution for pilgrims who wish to bring religious items, clothing, and souvenirs without worrying about exceeding baggage limits.

With up to 10 flights per week, residents of Surabaya and the wider East Java region now have many departure options. This route also makes it easier for pilgrims from surrounding areas such as Malang, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, and others, eliminating the need to transit through other cities.

To ensure smooth travel, Lion Air advises all pilgrims to follow several important guidelines:

• Keep valuables such as passports, money, and important documents in your cabin bag.
• Power banks are only allowed in the cabin, with a capacity of 100–160 Wh, and cannot be used during the flight.
• Do not bring hazardous items such as sharp objects, liquids over 100 ml in the cabin, or flammable or explosive materials.
• Label your luggage or bags with your name and contact number to ease the identification process.

Prospective Umrah pilgrims are also advised to make reservations and seek consultation through official Umrah travel agencies that have partnered with Lion Air, to ensure comfort, safety, and to prevent potential fraud.
