T A N G E R A N G, July 13, 2025 — Responding to the growing demand from Muslims for easier and more comfortable access to Umrah, Lion Air has introduced direct Umrah flights from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah (JED), Saudi Arabia. Operating up to 8 times per week, this service provides pilgrims with a wide range of schedule options tailored to various Umrah programs—from 9-day to 13-day packages.

These flights are operated using Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft, which offer up to 433 economy class seats, a spacious cabin, and extra comfort for long-haul journeys. Lion Air also provides 30 kg of free checked baggage, 7 kg of cabin baggage, 5 liters of Zamzam water, distributed upon return

This direct route allows pilgrims from Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) and surrounding areas to save time and energy, avoiding the need to transit through other cities. It further positions Jakarta as one of Indonesia’s primary international pilgrimage gateways, supporting the growth of religious tourism and the spiritual economy.

Lion Air strongly urges the public to book Umrah packages only through officially partnered travel agencies to avoid fraud and ensure smooth service from departure preparations to return.

Important Guidelines for Pilgrims:

• Keep passports, money, and important documents in your cabin bag
• Power banks (max 160 Wh) are allowed only in carry-on baggage and must not be used during the flight
• Do not bring sharp objects, liquids over 100 ml, or flammable items in your cabin bag
• Clearly label all luggage with your name and contact information for easy identification
