Lion Air Eases Umrah Access from Jakarta: 8 Weekly Flights to Jeddah

Jul 15, 2025, 11:36 AM by Lion Air Public Relations

J A K A R T A, July 7, 2025 — Lion Air continues to expand its Umrah services by offering direct flights from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta (CGK) to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah (JED), Saudi Arabia. This service operates up to 8 times per week, allowing pilgrims to choose a worship program that suits their needs, ranging from 9 to 13 days. The Umrah flights are operated using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, which can accommodate up to 433 economy-class passengers, featuring a spacious cabin and comfort-enhancing systems for long-haul journeys.

Umrah Departure Schedule from Jakarta, starting with inaugural flights:

  • ✈️ July 13, 2025 – 12-day Umrah program
  • ✈️ July 15, 2025 – 9-day Umrah program
  • ✈️ July 16, 2025 – 9-day Umrah program
  • ✈️ July 16, 2025 – 13-day Umrah program
  • ✈️ July 17, 2025 – 9-day Umrah program
  • ✈️ July 19, 2025 – 9-day Umrah program
  • ✈️ July 20, 2025 – 9-day Umrah program
  • ✈️ July 21, 2025 – 9-day Umrah program

Each Umrah flight includes a complete service package: 30 kg of free checked baggage, 7 kg cabin baggage allowance, and 5 liters of Zamzam water provided to pilgrims upon their return from Saudi Arabia. This offers flexibility for pilgrims to bring religious items, clothing, and souvenirs without worrying about baggage limits.

Direct departures from Jakarta provide a practical option for pilgrims from the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek) and surrounding regions. This service also supports the growth of the religious and spiritual tourism sectors and boosts the local economy through a well-structured Umrah travel ecosystem.

Lion Air strongly advises prospective pilgrims to book and consult only through official Umrah travel agencies that have partnered with Lion Air. This is essential to prevent fraud and ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience.

Lion Air also reminds all pilgrims to observe international travel regulations, such as:

  • Keep valuables (passport, money, important documents) in your cabin bag, not in checked luggage.
  • Power banks are only allowed in the cabin, with a maximum capacity of 100–160 Wh, and must not be used during the flight.
  • It is prohibited to carry dangerous items such as sharp objects, liquids over 100 ml in the cabin, or flammable substances.
  • All luggage should be clearly labeled with the passenger’s name and contact information to facilitate identification.
