Jul 7, 2025, 11:04 AM by Lion Air Public Relations

B A T A M, July 5, 2025 — Lion Air has announced the launch of its direct Umrah flight service from Hang Nadim International Airport, Batam (BTH) to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah (JED) in Saudi Arabia. The flight will operate once a week, offering greater convenience for residents of the Riau Islands and surrounding areas to perform the pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Batam serves as a strategic hub that is accessible via feeder flights from various cities in Indonesia, such as Jambi, Pangkalpinang, Palembang, Lampung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Pontianak, and others.

This Umrah flight service is part of Lion Air’s commitment to supporting easier, more comfortable, and faster religious travel from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia, with a 12-day Umrah program.

The flights will be operated using wide-body, modern-generation aircraft: Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A330-900NEO, which can accommodate up to 433 economy class passengers. These aircraft feature spacious cabins and complete comfort systems specifically designed for long-haul journeys.

Lion Air offers free checked baggage allowance of 30 kg, 7 kg cabin baggage, and 5 liters of zamzam water, which will be distributed to pilgrims upon their return from Saudi Arabia.
