First Arrival of Hajj Pilgrims at Banjarmasin Debarkation: Lion Air Brings Home the First Group
B A N J A R B A R U, June 14, 2025 — A moment of emotion and gratitude marked the arrival of the first group of Hajj pilgrims at the Banjarmasin debarkation point at Syamsudin Noor International Airport. This arrival signifies the beginning of the return phase for the 1446H/2025 Hajj pilgrims to Indonesia after completing the entire series of rituals in the Holy Land.
Lion Air, as a national private airline, actively contributes to ensuring the smooth return of the pilgrims. The wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft operated by Lion Air landed safely, carrying pilgrims from Saudi Arabia, as part of its commitment to providing safe, punctual, and inclusive Hajj flight services.
The pilgrims were warmly welcomed by their families and local Hajj officials. The disembarkation and airport services were conducted in an orderly manner, supported by facilities and special assistance for elderly pilgrims and persons with disabilities, in line with the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs' theme: “Elderly- and Disability-Friendly Hajj.”
With the start of this arrival phase, Lion Air hopes that all pilgrims enjoy a comfortable travel experience, return home with deep spiritual impressions, and reunite with their families in good health and happiness.
