JAKARTA, June 5, 2025 — Lion Air announces the successful operation of its Hajj flights for the 1446 Hijri / 2025 pilgrimage season from Padang and Banjarmasin embarkation points, achieving a 100% on-time performance (OTP), based on official data from the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

This success reflects Lion Air’s commitment to providing punctual, safe, comfortable, and inclusive Hajj flights that meet high safety and service standards.

 

🛫 Padang Embarkation

✈️ 15 flight groups (kloter)

👥 6,294 Hajj pilgrims

📍 Origin: 4,613 pilgrims from West Sumatra, 1,636 pilgrims from Bengkulu

✅ OTP: 100%

🛫 Banjarmasin Embarkation

📆 May 5 – 29, 2025

✈️ 13 flight groups (kloter)

👥 5,454 Hajj pilgrims

📍 Origin: 3,843 pilgrims from South Kalimantan, 1,611 pilgrims from Central Kalimantan

✅ OTP: 100%

Lion Air extends its deepest appreciation to all parties involved in ensuring the smooth execution of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage. This success fuels Lion Air’s spirit to continue innovating and serving the Indonesian people wholeheartedly.

 

Lion Air’s Hajj Service Strategy

This achievement is the result of thorough planning and intensive coordination, including:

1.Operating wide-body modern-generation aircraft, Airbus A330-300 and A330-900NEO, for Hajj routes.

2.Although two aircraft were sufficient for both embarkation points, Lion Air allocated two aircraft in Padang and three in Banjarmasin as part of operational risk mitigation.

3.Assigning trained flight crews, standby crews, technicians, flight operations officers, and ground staff who had undergone intensive training specifically for Hajj services.

4.Providing assistance and support for elderly pilgrims and those with disabilities, in line with the 2025 Hajj theme: “Elderly and Disability-Friendly Hajj.”

5.Aircraft maintenance was conducted regularly and thoroughly by Batam Aero Technic, a Lion Group subsidiary, following international aviation regulations. Each departure underwent pre-flight inspections, health checks for pilgrims, and manifest validation.

6.Coordinated and synergized efforts with multiple stakeholders. Full support from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Transportation, Angkasa Pura (InJourney), AirNav Indonesia, and other related authorities was key to smooth operations.
