Terms for Baggage that exceeds the size or specific type Last Updated November 25, 2024

J A K A R T A – November 25, 2024. Lion Group released a new policy on the terms of size and type of baggage that can be carried for free (FBA) to ensure the comfort and safety of travel for all customers. Types of luggage that include Free Baggage Allowance, include: traveling bag & luggage; sports equipment; medical equipment; musical instruments and instruments and other baggage that do not exceed the size/dimensions of 35 x 35 x 30cm.

Customer must pay attention to the size, shape and weight of the baggage to keep up to the standards set. Here are the categories of baggage that are not included in the FBA, if it exceeds the maximum size and type of dimension of 35 x 30cm:

1. Cardboard-shaped baggage

2. Styrofoam-shaped baggage

3. Wooden pallet-shaped baggage

4. Baggage shaped container box

5. Baggage shaped.

If customer luggage falls into one of the above categories and exceeds the size or weight of the provision, then from December 01, 2024, there is an additional baggage rate or Excess Baggage Ticket (EBT) when reporting to the check in officer, with a minimum payment of 5kg or can choose the freight delivery option via cargo service before D day flight departure schedule.

Each customer has the right to carry baggage at no extra charge under the terms:

• The recorded baggage, which is the luggage handed over at the check-in counter to be inserted into the plane’s cargo luggage room.

  Jet aircraft: Maximum weight of 15kg or 20kg for economic class, and 30kg for business class, depending on flight route.

  Propeller aircraft: No free registered baggage (0kg) is available for one-sector flights or routes only served by propeller aircraft.

• Cabin luggage is the luggage carried into the cabin of the aircraft with a maximum weight of 7 kg and dimensions of no more than 40 x 30 x 20cm.

   

  Important Notes:

• Innate goods packed using cardboard, styrofoam, wooden pallets, container box or sack can be included in the baggage rights, provided that according to the applicable weight limit and size (not exceed the size/dimensions of 35 x 35 x 30cm). If it exceeds the provisions, it will be charged an extra charge as excess baggage or recommended using cargo services.

Why Is Size Baggage Policy or Certain Type Important?

1. Supports Baggage and Customer Safety

Limiting the maximum size of the baggage at 35 x 35 x 30cm dimension, Lion Group can maintain the stability of the goods in the luggage space of the aircraft. Luggage types such as cardboard, styrofoam, wooden pallets, container boxes and sacks are potentially higher for damaged or leaked during handling, thus potentially risk damage to other luggage or luggage space hygiene. Under this rule, each item is arranged more securely and neatly, minimizing the risk of damage and ensuring the safety of all customer goods.

2. Maximize Customer Comfort

The same size and type of baggage will help facilitate customers and staff in the checking and arrangement process. These provisions also prevent customers from discomfort due to longer handling of baggage and ensure the flight schedule remains on time. With this, customers can enjoy smooth travel without baggage-related constraints.

3. Limitations of Baggage Capacity for Joint Comfort

Each aircraft has limited luggage capacity, and these provisions aim to ensure that all customers get equal rights in carrying their goods. With better arrangement on the dimensions and types of baggage, we can optimize the capacity of the luggage space, so that no customer feels harmed or limited in carrying their goods.

4. Maintaining Cabin Cleaning and Security Standards

Certain types of baggage, such as cardboard and styrofoam, are potentially dirty or damaged, which can affect the cleanliness and comfort of the aircraft. By implementing this policy, Lion Group ensures that each customer can enjoy a clean and comfortable journey.

• More Practical and Guaranteed. Shipping goods by cargo allows customers to carry goods with larger dimensions or weight without limitation as in ordinary baggage. Goods are also handled with special procedures for maximum safety and protection.
