The Best Human Resources and Fleet for Hajj Flights

Lion Air has prepared 694 best human resources, consisting of 164 pilots, 422 cabin crew, 96 technicians, two schedulers, two ground handling officers and eight flight operation officers.

Lion Air operates 9 Airbus 330 series categories 300 and 900NEO (440 seats) and 8 Boeing 737-900ER (215 seats). The average aircraft is young and shipped directly from the aircraft manufacturer. With this fleet, Lion Air is considered capable of serving non-stop flights on various routes that require travel time of up to more than 15 hours, so it is very appropriate to support Hajj flights. All aircraft have undergone intensive maintenance, in the best performance and airworthy for flight. Lion Air meets and implements operational requirements according to each country as well as international rules where the aircraft will be operated.

In organizing Hajj in 2023, Lion Air targets an average on time performance (OTP) level of 95% from a total of 4,600 round-trip flight frequencies. This seriousness is also carried out in line with providing the best service to Hajj pilgrims based on a structured and comprehensive system between the implementation of aircraft maintenance and operational arrangements at the airport as well as fast and appropriate decision making to maintain punctuality (minimizing the impact of flight delays).

This commitment is carried out by implementing passenger and aircraft movement arrangements, intensive coordination with related parties to ensure smooth flight operations, applying standard aircraft operating procedures according to the rules and instructions of aircraft manufacturers, carrying out aircraft maintenance, checking aircraft components, training flight crew and other matters.

In relation to safety aspects, Lion Air has appealed to all pilgrims, among others, not to bring dangerous goods to the plane, not to accept the deposit of goods in any form from other people into the plane, electronic goods must be removed from the battery and independent chargers or portable batteries (power bank) according to the criteria in terms of capacity that can be carried into the cabin and are not allowed to be used during the flight and must  comply with all flight rules.

Lion Air would like to thank you for the good coordination with related partners, regulators, airport managers, air traffic controllers, ground handling services and various parties in assisting, facilitating the flights of Hajj pilgrims. Lion Air appreciates the form of cooperation, so that the synergy is expected to provide more value including the level of comfort to Hajj pilgrims in facilitating travel to and from the destination city..
