The flight is connected to Wings Air, Lion Air and Batik Air network from Kualanamu - one of the entrances in North Sumatra. Wings Air also said that in January 2021 it has opened the latest route Banjarmasin –     Sampit – Banjarmasin as a continuation of business development (expansion) of domestic routes. In the second semester of 2020 Wings Air has opened the Makassar – Tana Toraja – Makassar, Makassar – Palu – Makassar – Kupang – Ruteng – Kupang network and is flying back on domestic routes gradually.

Thus, the main hope is to be able to help and contribute positively in regional development in line with government programs to support the acceleration of economic recovery.

Flying Safely and Enjoyable

Wings Air is optimistic, this return flight as a part of convincing that "flying is safe", because the implementation of the flight is carried out in accordance with health protocol guidelines  and prioritizes safety and security factors (safety first).

In line with efforts to provide the best experience for passengers when flying, Wings Air has prepared a fleet of propeller types of ATR 72-500 or ATR 72-600 aircraft, seated with 72 economy class seats with a layout of 2-2.

The ATR 72 is a state-of-the-art aircraft with a higher level of comfort because the cabin interior is designed to be more futuristic, allowing passengers to relax while in the cabin while enjoying the ride with a view of the outside as the aircraft is able to fly low. In addition, passengers can also work during the flight.

Fresh air quality is continuously supplied with a high level of cabin air volume update, so that the air cycle is guaranteed clean. Airflow from above (cabin ceiling) moves one way down (floor), which minimizes forward and rear air movement in the cab (blown transversally and vertically). Air will be sucked into the floor area through floor panel level according to the process in the air pressure flow valve (pressurization outflow valves operation).

The volume of approximately 95 cubic meters of air in the cabin will always be updated within 5 to 7 minutes relying on 2 mechanisms of ECS packs Operative, 2 pieces of Re-circulation and Extraction System (by Environment Control System (ECS)) that ensures fresh air in the cabin.

Wings Air maximizes various measures during the pandemic alert period including arranging  the process of entering and exiting passengers from aircraft in sequence to minimize overcrowding. On an ATR plane, enter and exit from the back door. This minimizes face-to- face interaction between passengers. The galley area located at the back also minimizes face-to-face interaction between passengers and cabin crew.

To maintain aviation health and safety, Wings Air has also improved the sterilization phase of the entire fleet. The aircraft cleaning process is carried out by a team of technicians and aircraft interior exterior cleaning (AIEC), including Aircraft Interior Cleaning (cleaning the inside of the aircraft) and Aircraft Exterior Cleaning (cleaning the exterior of the aircraft).
