Padang – Gunung Sitoli – Padang route is considered to be able to accommodate the needs of every passenger in both cities, thus the distance is getting closer, travel is shorter, travel time is fast and affordable.

Padang – Gunung Sitoli – Padang is also part of Wings Air's business development (expansion) for western Indonesia as it facilitates and responds to the demand for flight services in the sector.

In addition, the flight routes served directly (point to point) are interconnected, with the main objective of supporting various government programs in order to accelerate economic recovery and equalize new economic growth centers.

Wings Air also said that it has opened the latest route Banjarmasin – Sampit – Banjarmasin as a continuation of business development (expansion) of domestic routes. In the second semester of 2020 Wings Air has opened a network of Makassar – Tana Toraja – Makassar, Makassar – Palu – Makassar and Kupang – Ruteng – Kupang.

Flying ATR: Safe and Enjoyable

The new option on the Padang – Gunung Sitoli – Padang route will further increase people's interest in traveling by plane, as well as efforts to ensure that flying is safe, because the implementation of the flight is carried out as the health protocol guidelines, prioritizing safety and security factors.

Wings Air operates a propeller fleet of ATR 72-500 or ATR 72-600 aircraft. The aircraft is configured or layout 2-2 with a total of 72 economy class seats.

The ATR 72 is a state-of-the-art aircraft with a level of comfort in its class. The advantage is that the cabin is designed more futuristic, so that passengers can relax while in the cabin while enjoying the ride by looking at the outside view because the plane is able to fly low. In addition, passengers can also work during the flight.

Continuous fresh air quality is supplied with a high level of cabin air volume update, so that the air cycle is guaranteed clean. The airflow from above (cabin ceiling) moves one way down (floor), which minimizes the movement of air forwards and backwards in the cab (blown transversally and vertically). Air will be sucked into the floor area through floor panel level according to the process in the air pressure flow valve (pressurization outflow valves operation).

The volume of approximately 95 cubic meters of air in the cabin will always be updated within 5 to 7 minutes by relying on 2 mechanisms of ECS packs Operative, 2 pieces of Recirculation and Extraction System (by Environment Control System (ECS)) that ensure the air in the cabin remains fresh.

Wings Air maximizes various measures during the pandemic alert period including arranging the process of entering and exiting passengers from aircraft in sequence to minimize overcrowding. On an ATR plane, get in and exit from the back door. This will minimize face-to-face between passengers. The galley area located at the back also minimizes face-to-face interaction between passengers and cabin crew.

To maintain aviation health and safety, Wings Air has also improved the sterilization phase of the entire fleet. The aircraft cleaning process is carried out by a team of technicians and aircraft interior exterior cleaning (AIEC), including Aircraft Interior Cleaning (cleaning the inside of the aircraft) and Aircraft Exterior Cleaning (cleaning the outside of the aircraft).

Wings Air expresses its gratitude for the cooperation and coordination of the local government, regulators, airport managers, air traffic controllers, employees and crew as well as various other relevant parties in supporting the operation so that the inaugural flight of Padang – Gunung Sitoli – Padang can run smoothly.
