T I M I K A – January 11th, 2021. Lion Air (JT flight code) member of Lion Air Group, today (11/ 01) has announced the opening of the latest route for scheduled domestic passenger flights from Manado – Timika – Manado. All Lion Air flights have been carrying out according to aspects that meet safety, security, and comfort as health protocol guidelines.

The inaugural flight, which began to be served daily with a frequency of flying 1 (one) time or 7 (seven) times a week, has placed Lion Air as the first and only current airline serving North Sulawesi to Papua.

For Lion Air, Timika became the seventh domestic destination from Manado after Balikpapan, Denpasar-Bali, Jakarta–Soekarno-Hatta, Makassar, Sorong and Surabaya. Manado from Timika was named lion air's first scheduled destination.

Lion Air operates Boeing 737-900ER aircraft, carrying 160 passengers. Flight NUMBER JT-700 has a scheduled departure from Sam Ratulangi International Airport, Manado (MDC) at 09.00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time, GMT+ 08) and lands smoothly at Mozes Kilangin International Airport at 12:35 WIT (East Indonesia Time, GMT+ 09).

Lion Air flight JT-701 airs from Mozes Kilangin International Airport at 13.20 WIT and arrives on arrival at Sam Ratulangi International Airport at 14:45 WIB. Flying first from Timika, Lion Air carried 70 passengers.
