JAKARTA - 2 November 2018. Lion Air (flight code JT) member of Lion Air Groupupdated on the handling of Lion Air flight JT-610, that the search and evacuation process of passengers, crew and aircraft is still on-going.

The process involved 858 personnel, consisting of the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS) 201 people, TNI (Indonesia National Arm Force) Army (AD) 40 people, TNI Navy (AL) 456 people, TNI Air Force (AU) 15 people, National Police Force 58 people, Unitary Guard Officers of Sea and Coast (KPLP) 30 people, Customs 18 people, Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) 30 people and the Republic of Indonesia Marine Security Agency (Bakamla) 10 people.

The operation plan through 190 NM2 of air search uses five helicopters, namely one unit HR-1519, one unit HR -1301, one unit NBO - 105, one unit NBO - 105 Police and one unit of Dauphin Police.

The water territory (marine) has deployed 45 units of ships. The total underwater search area of 270 NM2, inclusive of 1A underwater priority areas with Baruna Jaya ships and priority areas 1B with the Dunamos vessel. Priority area 2 for search at water surface of 360 NM2 operated by 40 ships from BASARNAS, Ministry of Transportation, Water Police, KPLP, Customs and Pertamina.

Whereas the handling on the land has 24 units of ambulance, which includes seven units from the National Police, PMI six units and 11 units of other agencies.

On Thursday (1 November) at 19:00 WIB, Lion Air has received confirmation from BASARAS (National Search & Rescue Body) that nine body bags has been evacuated. The total is 65 bags, including eight bags on 31 October and 24 bags on 29 and 30 October 2018 respectively. The process of disaster victim identification at the Police Hospital is on-going with the family members of affected passengers and crew.

Lion Air also received confirmation from BASARAS one of the black boxes from the aircraft has been found and surrendered to National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT).

At the moment, Lion Air's family assistance at every post for JT-610 is on-going.

The representatives of Lion Air's management was also at post Cawang, Post Police Hospital, East Jakarta and Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta today, to give morale support to the family members of the passengers, crew and the evacuation team.
