Inauguration of Lion Air’s Airbus A330-300

Tangerang, November 2, 2015 

Airbus A330-300 aircraft ordered by the airline from Indonesia, Lion Air which is incorporated in Lion Air Group has officially came at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang. This Airbus A330–300 series is the first Airbus wide body aircraft owned by Lion Air of the total order amount as much as 3 units are expected to be completed by the end of 2015. The capacity of A330-300 reaches 440 seats all in economy class. 

The unique thing of the Airbus A330-300 owned Lion Air is the use of Trent 700 engines taken from Rolls-Royce. "We chose the Rolls-Royce because of trust with reliability and technology of its fuel saving, as well as the use of three-spool engine technology, making it suitable for hot air," said Edward Sirait, General Director of Lion Air.

Edward Sirait added, the Airbus A330-300 will serve the flights to the two cities in the Middle East, one is Jeddah, and one city in Indonesia. He said the placement of the aircraft for the route in the country because of the magnitude of the growth of the domestic market.

Recently, the total holdings of the Lion Air aircrafts reaches 85 units consisting of 28 units Boeing 737-800NG, 57 units 737-900ER, and has a total of 183 number service flights both domestically and internationally. In the future Lion Air along with Batik Air and Wings Air, a subsidiary companies of Lion Air Group will continue to expand in the form of increasing the number of fleet, as well as the opening of new routes, more certainly to continue to improve services and provide convenience for the passengers to enjoy the ride air.
