Thai Lion Air Provides Flights to Medan from Thailand


Thai Lion Air launched new flight route linking Medan and Hat Yai three times a week. Hat Yai is the main access point in the Southern part of Thailand.

 

Hat Yai is the second Thai Lion Air Hubs in Thailand and this means that the passengers from Medan could connects flight from Hat Yai to various destinations in Thailand using Thai Lion Air.

 

"Passenger from Medan that wants to go to Bangkok now no longer need to go to Jakarta first and continue the flight to Bangkok. Now, they can use Thai Lion Air to go to Hat Yai and resume its flights to Bangkok, "said Executive Managing Director, Andi Burhan. "It is way faster and more convenient to get to the capital of Thailand from Medan" he added.

 

Thai Lion Air route Medan - Hat Yai using the latest ATR 72-600 aircraft while destination Hat Yai - Bangkok using the new Boeing 737-900ER.

 

Thai Lion Air also uses ATR 72-600 from Hat Yai to Surat Thani in the south and also to Hua Hin. Hua Hin is famous for its beaches in the Gulf of Thailand.

 

In addition, on the 13 April 2014 Thai Lion Air launched flights that connects Hat Yai and Kuala Lumpur, Subang in Malaysia. Thai Lion Air will use ATR 72-600 for this route and it will be scheduled for 3 times a week.

 

"The decision to open route from Hat Yai to Medan and Hat Yai to Subang, Kuala Lumpur is part of our commitment to help improve passenger service between ASEAN countries", said Andi Burhan.

 

Andi Burhan also said that Thai Lion Air decided to open the route linking Medan and Hat Yai because the passenger numbers between Indonesia and Thailand continues to grow. Currently Thai Lion Air is the only airline that offers non-stop flights from Medan to Hat Yai.

 

"Besides offering low fares ticket, we also have created a package holiday in which the passengers can get a very competitive hotel rates," said Andi Burhan.

 

Andi Burhan also said that Thai Lion Air is committed to continue developing and opening new domestic routes in Thailand. "The response from the flight route Hat Yai - Hua Hun and Hat Yai - Surat Thani is extraordinary. Since we were the first to serve this route, then we also helped to create new markets in the aviation world. This new market will take time to grow”, he added.

 

Andi Burhan adding that Thai Lion Air is also very satisfied with the results of the flight route from Bangkok Don Mueang - Chiang Mai and Bangkok Don Mueang - Hat Yai. "We recently launched flight linking Bangkok - Hat Yai last month. Currently there are 5 flights a day to that route and at the end of April will be 6 flights a day ", he added.

 

Thai Lion Air operates four Boeing 737-900ER and one ATR 72-600. Thai Lion Air is expecting their Boeing’s fleet will increase to eight Boeing 737-900ER by the end of this year.
